On October 16, 2019, Debito was released on the App Store for the first time. Today, October 16, 2026, it turns seven.
Seven years is a lovely milestone for a small app. It is also a good moment to look back at the everyday problem Debito helps solve: remembering who owes you money, and who you still need to pay back.
A simple idea, still useful
A shared meal, a small loan, an expense covered for a friend — it is easy to lose track of these things. Debito gives them a place to live, with a clear balance, reminders when you need them, and a way to mark things as settled.
That remains the idea behind it: less mental bookkeeping, more time for everything else.
